Ali Khan, who became first player from US in IPL, reached UAE Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He was brought in as a replacement for England fast bowler Harry Gurney, who was sidelined due to a shoulder injury. Pakistan-born Ali Khan has played only one-day internationals for the United States since acquiring the country’s name at the one-day international level last year. Prior to the IPL, Ali Khan has played in several T20 leagues in different parts of the world, including the Global T20 Canada, Bangladesh Premier League, Caribbean Premier League and Pakistan Super League.
While he will have his first season with KKR, Ali Khan’s association with the Knight Riders family is not new as he was part of it Trinbago Knight Riders, who recently won the CPL 2020 title without losing a single match.
He took eight wickets in many matches and played a key role in TKR’s 12 matches unbeaten runs to win the title.
KKR Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Venky Mysore took to Twitter to welcome the 29-year-old bowler to his team and the IPL. He also wished Gurni speedy recovery.

After Gautam Gambhir’s departure, under which he won two titles, KKR could not perform in the same manner. Last year, he concluded the mixed campaign by finishing fifth at the points table, missing Sunrisers Hyderabad from the play-off spot due to his poor net run rate.
The two-time champions will begin their IPL 2020 league campaign against defending champions Mumbai Indians. On 23 September in Abu Dhabi.
