CISF apologizes to actress Sudha Chandran for being stopped on prosthetic at airport

A day after Sudha Chandran opened up about an incident where she was asked by airport authorities to remove her prosthesis, the veteran actress-dancer received an apology from the Central Industrial Security Force on Twitter. Responding to a news report containing Sudha Chandran’s story, the authority wrote: “We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused to Sudha Chandran. As per protocol, prosthetics are to be removed for security checks only in exceptional circumstances. We investigate Why the women personnel concerned requested Sudha Chandran to remove the prosthetics and assure no inconvenience to the traveling passengers.

Sudha Chandran in her Instagram video requested PM Modi as well as the authorities concerned to take “expeditious action”. She said, “Good evening, this is a very personal note that I want to convey to my dear Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, this is an appeal to the central government, I am Sudha Chandran, an actress and dancer by profession, who Danced with a prosthesis and made history and made my country very proud of me.”

She described the incident in her video and said, “Every time I go on my professional trips, every time, I am stopped at the airport and when I am in security request them to the CISF officers to please a ETD (Explosive Trace. Detector) For my prosthesis, they still want me to remove my prosthesis and show them. Is it humanly possible, Modi ji? Is this our country talking? Is this the respect that a woman gives to another woman in our society? My humble request to Modi ji is to please give a card to senior citizens that says they are senior citizens.”

Sudha Chandran, who lost her leg in an accident a few years back, is best known for being a part of TV shows. somewhere everyday and all seasons Naagin. He did a Telugu film. Has also won a National Award for his role in Mayuriwhich is based on his life.
