Jacqueline Fernandez: Actress Jacqueline Fernandez has secured major relief in the Rs 200 crore extortion case involving alleged con artist Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Delhi’s Patiala House court has granted bail to Jacqueline Fernandez. The court granted provisional bail on bail of Rs 50,000. The actress was also told that she would continue to cooperate fully with the investigation. During Monday’s hearing, Jacqueline Fernandez herself appeared in court in Patiala. Jacqueline Fernandez wore a white shirt and black pants to shield her from the media and reportedly appeared in court disguised as a lawyer. In this case, the Enforcement Branch had filed an additional indictment in the Money Laundering Prevention Act Court, in which he was named as a defendant. Taking note of the indictment, the court had asked Jacqueline to appear on September 26.
Jacqueline Fernandez: How the actress got stuck
Jacqueline Fernandez is accused of accepting expensive gifts from Sukesh Chandrasekhar. This happened when Sukesh was in Tihar prison and hence a money laundering case was also registered. The actress had previously been summoned twice by Delhi police for her alleged role in the case. Last week, Jacqueline Fernandez’s stylist, Lipakshi Elavadi, was questioned by the Economic Crimes Wing of the Delhi Police for nearly eight hours in connection with the case. During interrogation, Lipakshi Elawadi had admitted that she was aware of the relationship between Jacqueline Fernandez and Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
