Filmmaker Kabir Khan’s much-awaited cricket drama ’83Helmed by actor Ranveer Singh, has been declared tax free in Delhi, the makers announced on Tuesday. The film chronicles India’s victory under the captaincy of Kapil Dev, when the team won its first World Cup trophy in 1983 by defeating West Indies in the final. Presented by Reliance Entertainment and Phantom Films, ’83 It will hit theaters on December 24 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Reliance Entertainment’s Group CEO Shibasish Sarkar took to Twitter to thank Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for the decision. “83 declared tax free in Delhi. Thanks Arvind Kejriwal” YesManish Sisodia Yes For your support,” the tweet read.
The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jeeva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinkar Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Hardy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammi Virk, Adinath Kothare, Dhairya Karva and R Badri.
Actress Deepika Padukone makes a special appearance in the film as Kapil’s wife Romi.
