Directorate of Revenue Intelligence accuses Vivo of tax evasion of $280 million

Vivo Mobiles has been accused of tax evasion of Rs 22.1 billion.

Mumbai:

A government agency has accused Chinese-owned Vivo Mobile of 22.1 billion rupees ($280 million) in tax evasion.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence has detected customs evasion, following which it has issued a show-cause notice to Vivo India, the statement said.

Vivo India did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
