Highlighting the importance of drone technology, the government has said that it will play a vital role in providing vaccines to remote areas across the country and give impetus to the vaccination campaign.
Addressing an event organized by industry body FICCI, the Civil Aviation Minister, Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the government is acting as an “anchor customer” for the use of the vaccine and is also mapping and demanding drone technology in India. Is.
Productivity linked plan for drones which has been approved by the government recently will help in attracting more investments and creating jobs in the country, Mr Scindia said while urging industry bodies to help develop the technology .
The minister further said that the center’s survey of villages and mapping of village areas with improved technology or SVAMITVA scheme also aims to use drones to map villages.
Along with the productivity-linked incentive scheme, the new drone regulations will also help in domestic manufacturing of drones, Mr. Scindia said.
“The 40 per cent value addition limit for this sector gives a unique advantage to start a flight,” he pointed out.
The Minister said that it is important to promote new technology for the development of the drone industry.
