Gold, silver prices fall marginally amid limited trade in international markets

Today Gold, Silver Prices: Gold and silver prices fell marginally on Tuesday amid limited trade in the international market. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold futures for delivery in December fell up to 0.4 per cent to hit a low of Rs 46,702. In the spot market, gold of 24 carat purity was selling at Rs 46,390 per 10 grams, 22 carat gold at Rs 45,280 per 10 grams, 18 carat gold at Rs 37,580 and 14 carat gold at Rs 29,920. Per 10 gm as per India Bullion and Jewelers Association (IBJA).

The country’s gold imports picked up in September due to lower prices ahead of the start of the festive season. News agency Reuters quoted an unnamed source as saying that India imported 91 tonnes of gold in September, compared to 12 tonnes a year ago.

Gold prices in the international markets closed in a narrow range on Monday after hitting their highest level since September 23 and were trading at $1,763 an ounce.

Back home, silver too was facing mild selling pressure as silver for delivery in December slipped 0.7 per cent to hit a low of Rs 60,533 per kg on MCX. According to IBJA, the price of silver in the spot market was Rs 59,997 per kg.
