Moody’s stabilizes India’s outlook from negative

Rating agency Moody’s has stabilized India’s outlook

Global rating agency Moody’s has upgraded India’s rating outlook to “stable” from its earlier “negative” outlook, though at the same time reaffirmed its Baa3 rating.

The decision indicates that the Indian economy is moving in an upward direction.

The rating agency said the economic recovery is in progress as activity is gradually picking up and spreading to other sectors as well.

Moody’s downgraded India’s rating from Baa2 to Baa3 last year, noting that it may face difficulties in implementing policies to mitigate the risk of low growth and a deteriorating fiscal situation.
