Output of eight infrastructure sectors jumped to a four-month high of 7.8 per cent in January 2023 due to better performance by coal, fertiliser, steel and power sectors, according to official data released on Tuesday.

The output of core sectors was to increase by 4 per cent in January 2022 and 7 per cent in December 2022.

Eight infrastructure sectors – coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilisers, steel, cement and electricity – grew at 7.9 per cent in April-January of the current fiscal, as against 11.6 per cent in the same period last fiscal. Was. Fiscal.
