Petrol, Diesel Prices Today: There was no change in the prices of petrol and diesel on Friday, December 3. On Wednesday, the Delhi government reduced the Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol from 30 per cent to 19.40 per cent. With this decision, petrol prices in the national capital have come down by Rs 8.56 per liter from Thursday. The price of one liter of petrol has now gone up from Rs 103.97 to Rs 95.41.

However, diesel price in Delhi remained unchanged at Rs 86.67.

Petrol in Mumbai is being sold at Rs 109.98 per liter; While diesel is selling at Rs 94.14 per liter. Among the metro cities, Mumbai has the highest fuel rates. Rates vary from state to state due to VAT.

Petrol and diesel prices in metro cities are as follows:

State-run oil refiners such as Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum and Hindustan Petroleum revise fuel rates on a daily basis, taking into account crude oil prices and rupee-dollar exchange rates in international markets. Any change in the prices of petrol and diesel is effective from 6 am every day.

Globally, OPEC+ said it would review an increase in supply if the Omicron version of demand is affected, but prices are still up for a sixth week of fall. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 27 cents, or 0.4 per cent, to $66.77 a barrel, having gained 1.4 per cent on Thursday. Brent crude futures rose 12 cents, or 0.2 per cent, to $69.79 a barrel after gaining 1.2 per cent in the previous session.
