Industry leaders including Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra, RPG Enterprises Chairman Harsh Goenka and Biocon Ltd chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw on Monday came out in support of the Agneepath scheme, saying it has huge employment potential for youth in the corporate sector. Huh.
Mr Mahindra also expressed his dismay at the violence against the scheme and said that we welcome the opportunity to recruit trained, competent and young people under the Agricultural Equipment Program for the Aerospace Group.
The Agneepath scheme, announced on June 14, has a provision to recruit youth between the age of 17 and a half years to 21 years only for four years, of which 25 per cent is to be retained for 15 more years.
Later, the government increased the upper age limit for recruitment to 23 years in 2022. Protests have started in many states against the Centre’s plan.
Expressing his opinion on the scheme, Mr. Mahindra said that “Agnivar” has a huge employment potential in the corporate sector.
Mr Mahindra tweeted, “Saddened by the violence surrounding the #AgneePath program. When the scheme was introduced last year, I said – and I repeat – the discipline and skills of Agniverse make them eminently employable. will make it.”
Mahindra Group welcomes the opportunity to recruit such trained and capable youth, he added.
When asked by a Twitter user which post would be given to Agniverse by Mahindra Group, he replied, “Great employment opportunities for Agniverse in the corporate sector. Expressing similar views, Ms Mazumdar-Shaw tweeted: “I strongly believe Agnives will have a distinct advantage in recruiting in the industrial job market.”

TVS Motor Company’s Managing Director Sudarshan Venu had said on Friday that the ‘Agneepath’ scheme will have a significant positive impact on the society, and will contribute greatly to nation building.
“Firefighters will play an important role in driving economic growth and strengthening society in the years to come,” Venu said in a statement.
Last week, several states, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Telangana, witnessed stormy protests, while peaceful agitations against the plan took place in many places.
Indian Railways had to bear the brunt of the violence. More than 500 trains were canceled on Monday due to the protest.
Several opposition political parties and a large number of military experts also criticized the plan, saying it would adversely affect the functioning of the armed forces.
Under this scheme, 25 per cent of the recruits will be placed for regular service and others will retire without gratuity and pension benefits.
