Indian railway officials dedicated the new Hansdiha-Godda rail line in Jharkhand and the Godda-New Delhi Humsafar Special train was also flagged off. Railway Minister Piyush Goyal flagged off the projects through video conferencing with Railway Board Chairman Sunita Sharma on Thursday, 8 April. The new railway line will promote transport facility along the network and will be cost effective for faster movement of goods. According to the Railway Minister, the new project has attracted an investment of Rs 550 crore so far.
With the speed of freight movement, the railway line will promote the socio-economic development of Dumka and Godda region in the state of Jharkhand. This is likely to create employment opportunities and in future the railway train services can also be started through the railway line. This will allow the farmer to move the produce from this area to other areas.
