Petrol diesel rates today: According to the Indian Oil Corporation, petrol and diesel rates were unchanged on Thursday 8 April 2021 in the four metros. Petrol prices in Delhi were unchanged at Rs 90.56 per liter and diesel prices at Rs 80.87 per liter. In Mumbai, fuel prices are the highest among all the four metro cities. According to the oil refiner in the state, petrol is sold at Rs 96.98 per liter and in Mumbai at Rs 87.96 per liter. Petrol and diesel prices vary across states due to value-added tax (VAT).

State-run oil marketing companies – Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil Corporation, as well as Hindustan Petroleum – align domestic fuel prices with global crude oil prices, taking into account any modification in foreign exchange rates. Any change in fuel rates is implemented from 6 am every day.
Meanwhile, oil futures rose to higher levels on Wednesday as global economic outlook improved, but rising discoveries of gasoline led to gains and fears that a new coronovirus outbreak would lead to a global decline in fuel demand.
Brent crude futures settled at $ 63.16 per barrel, 42 cents or 0.7 percent. US West Texas Intermediate crude gained 44 cents, or 0.7 percent, at $ 59.77 a barrel.
