Washington, United States:
US President Donald Trump on Thursday urged “patriotic” teaching in schools and said against anti-racist training that he had destroyed national unity.
In an event titled “White House Conference” on American History, he said, “The only path to national unity is through our shared identity as Americans. This is why we restore patriotic education in our schools.” “
Trump invoked “a pro-American curriculum that celebrates the truth.”
“Our youth will be taught to love America, all of their souls,” he said.
In a vote six weeks before the presidential election, Trump is going out to tease his right-wing base, which he argues is a far-left conspiracy to change American lifestyles.
He has taken the special aim of re-establishing American history by focusing on so-called critical race theory, racial sensitivity training, and the deep roots of racism against African Americans.
Trump, whose speech marked Constitution Day, was speaking after a summer of violent police-protests several times due to high-profile shootings and murders by officers of black suspects during arrests.
The unrest, which activists say has expressed resentment over the country’s failure against racism, has also seen crowds tearing down historic statues – some representing slave-owners from the south and some of the country’s early founders in the Civil War Huh.
Trump said, “We are here today to declare that we will never submit to tyranny. We will reclaim our history and our country for citizens of every race, color, religion and creed.”
“Left-wing riots and scuffles are a direct result of decades of articulation in our schools.”
He called revisionist history projects and racial sensitivity training “toxic propaganda – an ideological poison that, if not removed, will dissolve the civilian exiles who tie with us, destroy our country.”
Trump said he had recently banned such training from federal offices “in the strongest way possible”.
