After opener Johnny Bairstow’s century, England scored a total of 302 runs at the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs.
Bairstow scored 112 runs in 126 innings with 12 fours and two sixes.
Sam Billings and all-rounder Chris Woakes hit half-centuries.
Australian pacer Mitchell Starc and spinner Adam Zampa took three wickets for the visitors.
Australia, in turn, have reached 114/5 after 24 overs, with Alex Carey and Glenn Maxwell at the crease at the time of writing the copy.
England were victorious in the second match of the 24-run tri-series with a 19-run win for Australia in the opening clash.
