Cricket Board of India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly Visited the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday – one of three places for IPL 2020 – to review preparations, with only a few days left at the start of the cash-rich tournament. Ipl 2020 The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was moved overseas due to increasing coronovirus cases in the country. Ganguly was accompanied by some local dignitaries and former IPL chairman Rajiv Shukla. Satisfied with the arrangements made by the local authorities, the former Indian captain shared some photos from his visit and wrote: “All Famous Sharjah Stadium to host IPL 2020”.
Most players and support staff from all eight teams arrived in the UAE last month to begin their pre-season after a long break due to the corona virus epidemic.
The players have been training for almost a month now and are daring to see all the guns blazing in the tournament and bring a smile to the faces of the fans who were eagerly awaiting the start of the tournament.
Ganguly left for UAE last week to oversee preparations before IPL 2020. – which will be played between 19 September to 10 November in three locations Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
The inaugural match of IPL 2020 will be played in Abu Dhabi Between the defending champions Mumbai Indians and last year’s runners-up Chennai Super Kings.
The Sharjah Cricket Stadium will host a total of 12 league stage matches, which the Rajasthan Royals will start with the Chennai Super Kings on 22 September.
The last league match of IPL 2020 will be played on 3 November between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians in Sharjah.
The BCCI is yet to announce the dates and places for the play-off matches and the summit clash – which will be played on 10 November.
