Mira Kapoor shares her ideal winter lunch, and we bet you’ll crave it too



Delhi is a city that is known for its iconic winter weather. As the cold season starts, we see that the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder. Cozy sweaters replace T-shirts and shorts, and we sip on hot soups and beverages to keep ourselves warm. The winter season in northern India is characterized by abundance of green and leafy vegetables. Be it Palak or Methi, Bathua or Saag – there are plenty of winter greens to choose from. Delhi-based Mira Kapoor also loves her winter vegetables. She took to Instagram to share a click of some delightful greens made at home. Have a look:

“My favorite season and favorite vegetable!!! Greens,” she said. In the photo shared by Mira Kapoor, we can see a bowl full of greens on the dining table. She further revealed that it was a perfect winter lunch for her and she used to consume hearty delights regularly during the winter season. “I eat it every other day for lunch during the winter. As it gets colder, the corn will add to the bread and molasses,” she added with a drooling emoji.

We look forward to seeing Mira Kapoor relishing such delicious winter delicacies this coming season. The diva recently shared her love for winter greens in an Instagram story. She wrote, “Can’t wait for winter greens… Fenugreek, Bathua, Saag, Spinach, Radish.”

Without beginning, saag or sarson ka saag refers to mustard leaves that are cooked during the winter season especially in north Indian states like Punjab. They are usually served with makki ki roti and white butter, with a little jaggery on the side. Apart from being super tasty, greens are rich in fiber and are also rich in iron. Hot bliss is known to be good for building immunity and controlling cholesterol levels.
