Mixed with pungent lemon juice, iced water, black salt and sugar (or sugar substitutes) – this ‘desi’ drink is in the heart of all of us. The best thing is that it takes literally one minute to prepare lemon water. And if you think that this is just another summer cooler that helps us cope with the heat, then you are yet to get acquainted with its amazing health benefits. Thanks to lemon, this drink is a repository of vitamin C, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help you detox and boost metabolism. These factors further help in maintaining balance in our body, nourishes us from within and promotes immune health.
Lemon water also gives us enough space to experiment. Apart from lemon juice, salt and sweetener, we like to add mint leaves, sabja seeds, roasted cumin etc. to the drink. It seems that celebrity fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala also likes her lemonade with a twist.
Yasmin recently shared her Lemonade recipe on her Instagram and wrote, “My Secret Lemonade Recipe Revealed !!!!” He said, “Need something fresh to drink? The summer drink of your choice has just been upgraded!” Let’s have a look at the recipe:
How to make Yasmin Karachiwala Lemon Water:
For this recipe, all you need is 1 lemon, 1 inch fresh ginger, some mint leaves, 1 teaspoon jaggery, 3/4 glass of water, half a teaspoon black salt, 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder, a pinch of salt and 2 -3 Pieces of ice.
Pour all ingredients in a blending jar and blend. Sieve the drink in a glass and take a sip.
