This Hyderabad girl turned food delivery executive – the reason will impress you

The ongoing pandemic has been difficult for us – as individuals and as a country. People and families have suffered because of the lack of work, especially the daily wage workers. However, during this phase we have also come across many inspiring examples where people faced adversity and came out as winners. One such story is of this young woman from Hyderabad – Mamidipelli Rachna. The daughter of a daily wage laborer from Telangana’s Warangal district, Rachna initially came to Hyderabad to study hotel management. Apart from her studies, she also used to deliver milk from door to door so that she could fill her stomach.

Rachna told ANI, “I studied in a government school for free till class 12th. I had a strong will to continue with my further studies and with the advice of my school teachers, I was able to get admission in a hotel management diploma course in Hyderabad. ” . She further said that initially she worked in a milk shop, where she would wake up at 4 in the morning to distribute milk and then attend classes.

β€œAt the end of the month, I used to take home Rs 9,000, of which Rs 3,000 would go as my room rent and the rest would go back home to support my parents,” she said. Only Rs 1,000 left. As for groceries, it was difficult for him to live in the city.

However, when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, Rachna decided to stand by her family and took over the food delivery, which is usually done by men. β€œI came to know about this job in an online food delivery platform and was able to join as a food delivery executive,” she said.

And since then, Rachna is working as a food delivery executive and managing her family, studies and expenses on her own.

When asked about her future plans, Rachna said that as soon as she completes her hotel management course, she will undergo training and get a permanent job for herself. “I did it all for myself and to make sure my parents had a better life,” he said.
