The crispy soya chunks doused in a sweet and spicy chutney with vegetables will surely taste more, right? Soya chunks are rich in protein and are easily available in the market. Here’s how to make Kunal Kapoor’s Soya Mirch Manchurian:

To Boil Soy Nuggets:

Soybean Nuggets (Dried) – 2 cups

Water: 1 liter

Soy Sauce: 3 tbsp

Salt: tsp

Garlic chopped:- 1 tsp

Chopped Onion: 3 tbsp

Green chili chopped: 2 tbsp

Ginger chopped : 1 tsp

For Manchurian Balls

Green onions chopped – cup

Green coriander chopped – a handful

Salt – a generous pinch

Green chili chopped – 2 tsp

Lemon juice – 3 tbsp

Black pepper powder – tsp

Corn starch – 3 tbsp

Maida (maida) – 5 tbsp

oil – for frying

For the Chili Manchurian Sauce

Oil – 3 tbsp

Dry red chili – 2

Garlic chopped – 1 tbsp

Ginger chopped – 1 tbsp

Onion chopped – cup

Green chili chopped – 2 tsp

Yellow Capsicum – cup

Green capsicum chopped – cup

Red capsicum chopped – cup

Chili Sauce – 2 tbsp

Soy sauce (mild) – 4 tbsp

Tomato Ketchup – cup

Vinegar – 1 tbsp

salt to taste

Green onions chopped – a handful

Water/Stock – 3 cups

Corn starch – 1 tbsp

Water – 3 tbsp

Green coriander chopped – a handful

How to make Soya Chilli Manchurian

1) First you have to boil the soya nuggets. Take soya chunks and boil them in water along with chopped garlic, onion, green chillies and a little soy sauce and salt.

2) The next step involves preparing the Manchurian Balls. For this, take boiled soya chunks and add chopped green onions, coriander, salt, lemon juice, black pepper powder to it. Mix some all-purpose flour and the binding agent corn starch. Deep fry the pieces.

3) Prepare the sauce for your recipe. Heat some oil in a pan and add chopped garlic, onion, ginger one by one, yellow, green and red chopped capsicum. After frying the vegetables, pour the sauce (pepper, soy, tomato) with vinegar.

4) The last step involves adding the fried soya chunks to the preparation. Mix everything well and Soya Chilli Manchurian is ready.
