BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday filed a petition before the Calcutta High Court seeking direction to the West Bengal Police to provide security to him in view of the alleged aggression and attack on him and his supporters by the ruling Anmol Congress workers. done.

Mr. Adhikari has mentioned in his petition that he has been appointed as the chairman of the Jute Corporation of India equivalent to the rank of Union Cabinet Minister.
Stating that he has been made a “Z” category defender by the central government due to “a perception of grave danger”, he said in the petition that this could not be a reason for state officials to remain passive and indifferent to their security .
Mr. Adhikari prayed for an order, directing the officials of the Government of West Bengal to ensure immediate safety for them, including security arrangements at public meetings and their tour locations on their travel routes.
