A minister said that a senior doctor at a government hospital in Madhya Pradesh, who had allegedly abused Congress MLA PC Sharma after the death of a patient, resigned.
Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Prabhuram Chaudhary said that Dr. Yogendra Srivastava has agreed to withdraw his resignation on the assurance that action will be taken on the “unfortunate” incident.
Civil Surgeon of Government Jaypee Hospital Drs. Rakesh Srivastava said on Saturday that after the death of a patient, after being abused by some leaders, Dr. Srivastava resigned.
A video of the incident, which went viral on social media, featured former minister PC Sharma and former Congress corporator Yogendra Chauhan. Yogendra Srivastava was allegedly shown screaming.
“I spoke with Dr. Yogendra Srivastava and told him that the state is in dire need of doctors in this difficult time of coronovirus outbreak. I requested him to withdraw his resignation and assured him of action in the unfortunate incident. He submitted his resignation. Agreed to withdraw. ” Choudhary said in a statement.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had said that he was saddened by the resignation of a senior doctor.
Mr. Sharma had said that one of his supporters had spoken loudly to the doctor after which he apologized in person.
“A patient from my constituency died this afternoon. The sensitive person won under such circumstances does not get angry. A poor patient is being asked to go to a private hospital, nobody talks about it. Has been, ”claimed Mr. Sharma.
