Fire in UK nursing home in Vikaspuri, west Delhi, rescues all patients

An official said that eight fire engines were dispatched to the spot.

New Delhi:

Officials said a fire broke out in a nursing home at Vikaspuri in west Delhi around 11 pm on Tuesday.

He said eight fire tenders were sent to UK nursing homes and all 26 patients were safely rescued, including 17 Kovid patients.

Firefighters entered the nursing home after breaking windows and rescued patients from an explosion caused by a short-circuit in a store room on the first floor. Officials said some patients were also on the ground floor.

Videos have surfaced from nursing that show scenes of chaos as doctors give comfort to admitted patients and firefighters assist patients off campus in wheelchairs. Attendants of patients are seen fanning the smoke away from them.
