More senior Mumbai Police under NIA radar

The NIA suspects that Pradeep Sharma helped Sachin Waze in the Mansukh buck case.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is still investigating Param Bir Singh’s role as the CBI in the mysterious death of a Thane businessman in March, based on allegations by the former Mumbai Police commissioner, to resign as Maharashtra Home Valle is set to interrogate Anil Deshmukh. “Sharma is under our radar not only for being involved with Waze, but also for some of his important meetings with the accused held after the execution of the crime. Mr. Sharma and Mr. Waze together killed more than 360 sharpshooters of the Dawood Ibrahim gang and killed several other gangsters.

The CBI is set to record Mr. Deshmukh’s statement before filing its reply with the Mumbai High Court today. Apart from Mr. Singh and Mr. Vez, it has so far recorded statements of Assistant Police Inspector Sanjay Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police Raju Bhujbal and two personal associates of Mr. Deshmukh. Allegedly, the NIA has handed over a pile of evidence of corruption to the CBI.
