Restricted material worth Rs 1 crore seized in Jharkhand’s Chatra, 9 arrested: Police

Chatra:

Nine people have been arrested in Chatra district of Jharkhand and brown sugar worth one crore rupees has been seized from them in the international market.

He said that a self-styled leader of Hindu Bir Dal was also among those arrested.

SP Rishabh Jha said that based on a tip-off, Chatra police raided various places and busted a drug racket, in which nine people were arrested and 296 grams of brown sugar was recovered.

Besides narcotics, Rs 7.74 lakh in cash, a four-wheeler and a two-wheeler have also been recovered, he said.

Police said all those arrested were sent to jail after testing positive for COVID-19.
