The Election Commission today announced voting dates for four states and one union territory. The states include the union territories of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry where elections are to be held in April-May.

Polling is to be held for 294 seats in West Bengal, 234 seats in Tamil Nadu, 140 seats in Kerala, 126 seats in Assam and 30 seats in the union territory of Puducherry.

When there are assembly elections for four states and one union territory:

West Bengal: Bengal will vote in eight phases on 27 March, 1 April, 6 April, 10 April, 17 April, 22 April, 26 April and 29 April.

Kerala: Kerala will vote in a single phase on 6 April.

Assam: Assam votes in three phases on 27 March, 1 April and 6 April.

Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu will vote in a single phase on 6 April.

Puducherry: Puducherry will be voting in a single phase on 6 April.

The votes of all states will be counted on May 2.
