Police today said that a school teacher has been arrested for killing his wife and two children and throwing their bodies at a well in Palamu district of Jharkhand.
The incident took place in Rajhara village in the district.
Bishrampur police officer Surjeet Kumar said that a dowry-murder case has been registered and the accused and four other members of his family have been arrested.
Ashish Pandey, a teacher at Adhikari School, had also lodged a missing complaint so that the police did not suspect him.
However, during interrogation, the man killed his wife Soni Devi, 25, daughter Samrudhi, 5, and son Samadarshi, 3, strangled him to death on Thursday night and threw his body into a well on National Highway 75.
His body has been recovered from the well.
The woman’s father lodged a complaint against the man, his parents, elder brother and wife, alleging that his son-in-law had physically and mentally tortured his daughter since their marriage in 2014, as dowry in his in-laws’ home. Land was demanded in ‘The village official said.
