This year, the Palkhi Dindi Ashadhi ceremony was performed on foot. Hence, thousands of devotees who had missed Shri Vitthal Rukmini’s darshan in the past two years had entered Pandharpur for the pilgrimage. The city of Pandharpur was full of devotees. Coffers overflowed as devotees from across the state for the Ashadhi Yatra poured out donations at the feet of the Lord.

The Shri Vitthal Rukmini Mandir committee received a donation of five crore seventy lakh rupees during the Ashadhi Yatra period. At the feet of God, donation receipts, gold and silver ornaments as well as lodgings for devotees, huge donations were received through the sale of ladus. A substantial increase in Mr. Vitthala’s donation has been noted this year.

During the Ashadhi Yatra held in 2019, Vitthal Temple Committee received a donation of Rs 4 crore 40 lakhs. Devotees have donated gold and silver ornaments to Vitthala this year.

Vitthal Rukmini received a golden crown worth one million rupees!

During this year’s Ashadhi Yatra, Sri Vitthal and Rukmini Mata received a golden crown weighing two and a half kilograms worth one crore of rupees. On Ashadhi Ekadashi day, devotee Vijayakumar Uttarwar of Umari in Nanded district offered golden crowns to Shri Vitthal and Rukminimate. The program was held at Shri Vitthal Rukmini Temple in the presence of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Vijayakumar Uttarwar is a gold and silver merchant from Umri. Uttarwar was also congratulated on behalf of Arya Vaishya Komati Samaj.

This year, the Ashadhi Ekadashi ceremony took place on July 10. Sant Tukaram Maharaj’s palanquin left Dehu on June 20 and Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj’s palanquin left Alandi on June 21. This year, a total of 329 Dindas participated in the Palkhi Ceremony of Tukobaraya. The palanquin arrived at Pandharpur on 9 July. This year, Vitthal Mahapuja was portrayed by the new Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde.
