Mr. Ta. Special Representative, Bombay: The Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan highway can now be reached in just 20-25 minutes from the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. A new road will be built from Chinchoti near Vasai to Anjurphata near Bhiwandi to connect these two highways. The Mumbai Regional Development Authority (MMRDA) has taken the initiative.

At present, if you want to reach Pune, Nashik from Ahmedabad, you must use the Ghodbunder road in Thane. As a result, there is a permanent traffic jam on this highway. To break this dilemma, Nagla Bandar-Gaymukh-Balkoom-Kharegaon to Anandnagar Toll Gate (Mulund Check Gate), Thane Coastal Road is being constructed. But this route will be part of the city of Thane itself.

In this regard, MMRDA has launched a consultancy tender. The 23.50 km of each dual carriageway will start from Chinchoti near Vasai and end at Anjurphata on the Thane-Bhiwandi road. MMRDA sought advice from the contractor in this regard. Under it, the consultant must carry out all the studies necessary for this route and verify the feasibility of this route. Accordingly, the Major Project Report (MPR) should be prepared. The project will cost a total of Rs. 264 crores. The deadline for submitting applications is March 17.

Another route connecting Ahmedabad highway to Nashik highway

MMRDA has already started the construction of the Manor-Wada and Wada-Padgha (Asangaon) roads to connect the Ahmedabad highway to the Nashik highway. After that, it will be the second road connecting these two highways. From Anjurphata, this route will connect to the Nashik Highway.
