What exactly happened?
Sandeep Deshpande went to Shivaji Park today as usual for a morning walk. He was alone. At that time, four to five people were sitting on the Shivaji Park fence. They had masks on their faces. The gang attacked Sandeep Deshpande with stumps and iron bars. One of the gang members tried to put a stump on Sandeep Deshpande’s head. However, this blow was caught by Sandeep Deshpande. In this fight, a blow fell on his leg. Seeing all this, people around came to help Sandeep Deshpande. The assailants then fled.
Sandeep Deshpande is currently undergoing treatment at Hinduja Hospital. Local MNS leaders along with Nitin Sardesai went to Hinduja Hospital to see Deshpande. Doctors have yet to comment on Deshpande’s condition. There is a possibility of political repercussions from this incident.
