Santosh Shirale, Satara: In Mundhe of Karad taluka, there was an unfortunate death incident of a brother and a sister. The deceased toddlers have been identified as Shlok Arvind Mali (aged 3) and Tanishk Arvind Mali (aged 7).

According to information received, powder was used in the house to prevent insects from entering the grain during storage. Shlok and Tanishka started vomiting from the strong smell of this powder entering the house. Relatives therefore admitted the toddler to a private hospital in Karad for treatment. But Shlok died on Monday while undergoing treatment. Then, on Tuesday, her seven-year-old older sister, Tanishka, also started suffering from vomiting and coughing on Tuesday. So her relatives also admitted her to the hospital. Meanwhile, she also died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment.

In preparation for Shiv Jayanti, dirt was brought in for the school fort and 13-year-old Aftab died as soon as he returned home.

Police said after the autopsy of 3-year-old Shlok’s body, the medical report said he died of excessive internal bleeding and dehydration. Tanishka’s autopsy was carried out on Tuesday evening and as police have yet to receive her report, the exact cause of her death could not be established.

Meanwhile, the incident causes outrage in Mundhe and surrounding areas. Karad police are investigating the case further.
