Government oil marketing companies reduced petrol and diesel prices by 15-24 paise in metros on Tuesday, 15 September. According to a notification by Indian Oil Corporation, the country’s largest Indian retailer, petrol prices in Delhi fell from Rs 81.72 per liter to Rs 81.52 and diesel rates from Rs 72.56 per liter to Rs 72.56. In Mumbai, petrol prices fell from Rs 88.38 per liter to Rs 88.21 and diesel prices fell from Rs 79.29 per liter to Rs 79.05. (Also read: How to get latest petrol, diesel rates in your city)

Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation review petrol and diesel rates in various parts of the country on a daily basis, and implement any amendments on fuel pumps from 6 am onwards. Three accounts for most fuel stations in the country.
Oil prices, meanwhile, lowered on Tuesday as a weak outlook for global fuel demand, leading to fresh sales, but short-covering after this week’s meeting of OPEC and its partners, as OPEC + Known, limited losses.
Brent crude was down 3 cents, or 0.1 per cent, to $ 39.58 a barrel at 0102 GMT. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures were down 2 cents, or 0.1 percent, to $ 37.24 a barrel.
