Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Sunday incited party leaders to struggle for people’s issues, while democracy was going through the “toughest” phase.
Sonia Gandhi’s emphasis came in the meeting of AICC general secretaries and state in-charge, which was chaired by her.
Tweeting about the meeting that started at 4 pm, Congress chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, “Soniaji asked everyone to fight for people’s issues and ameliorate their suffering because our democracy is going through this difficult time Passing.”
This meeting is important before the important Bihar elections and major by-elections in various states, including 28 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh.
The Congress has been vigorously raising issues like the passage of a farm bill in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, alleged gang rape and death of a girl, the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, the state of the economy and the functioning of the government.
The party has been organizing nationwide protests against farm laws.
