Former England captain Nasser Hussain feels any team can trouble India in the knockout stages of the T20 World Cup, highlighting the unpredictability of the shortest format of the game. Hussain insisted that though India start the tournament as favorites but in T20 cricket, an “individual talent” can change the game. “They are the favourites. I wouldn’t say clear favorites because of the format. The shorter the game, the things can happen. An individual talent, a 70 or an 80 or a 3 delivery suddenly turns it the other way around. So nobody bothers India. Maybe in any knockout game,” Hussain said on Sky Cricket.

The former England captain further mentioned that India does not have a Plan B in case the top order fails in a do or die struggle.

“When they come to a stage – you look at the last World Cup against New Zealand – and all of a sudden it’s a low-scoring game and they don’t have a Plan B, they rolled onto a really good New Zealand team. So That is going to be an issue for them.”

“The knockout game, the expectations, everybody thinks they’ll win. And people think when you look at that line-up on paper, it’s all about it,” Hussain said.

India will start their T20 World Cup campaign against Pakistan on 24 October at the Dubai International Stadium.
