Scoring from about 50 yards is no joke, but some players have often defied logic and have managed to detect the back of the net from in and around the half-way line. Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa is the latest on that list. He did the same during a game against Villarreal, a Spanish top-division, LaLiga, at the La Ceramica Stadium on Sunday. Korea scored in the 10th minute of the match to beat Atletico 1-0 against the Yellow Submarine.

The Argentine made a sloppy pass in his own half by Villarreal midfielder Dani Parejo, before launching an incredible strike from the opposition half.

His compatriot, Geronimo Rulli, who was on goal for Villarreal, was caught snuggling completely inside the penalty box as the box went over his head to hit the back of the net.

Here’s the video:

The match ended in a 2–2 draw and Atlético were reduced to a 10-man draw in stoppage time.

After Korea’s strike had put the visitors in front, Villarreal equalized through centre-back Pau Torres, who bundled home close after a howler from Atlético goalkeeper Jan Oblak.

Alberto Moreno then took the hosts 2-1 in the 58th minute and Geoffrey Kondogbia equalized for Atlético nine minutes later.

However, further drama ensued as Condobia was shown a second-yellow card in stoppage-time for a foul Yeremi Pino as Atlético finished the game with 10 men.

With the result, Atlético fell 13 points behind league leaders and city rivals Real Madrid, who have played more games than Los Colcaneros.
