India skipper Rohit Sharma was relieved several times by Australia’s two big DRS mistakes on the first day of the ongoing third Test at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. The incident took place on the first ball of the match when Rohit got Australian wicket-keeper Alex Carey caught by Mitchell Starc. On the fourth ball, Stark’s inswing ball went on Rohit’s pad. Replays showed that Rohit was out on both the occasions. While Starc made half-hearted appeals on both occasions, Australia’s stand-in captain Steve Smith decided against taking DRS.

However, Rohit was eventually dismissed for 12 by Matt Kuhnmann.

Earlier, India captain Rohit won the toss and elected to bat on Wednesday as his team looks to seal the series in their third Test against Australia in Indore.

The hosts took a 2-0 lead in the four-match series to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and made two changes from the team that won in Delhi.

Opener Shubman Gill replaces struggling KL Rahul, who has been stripped of the vice-captaincy.

Fast bowler Umesh Yadav came in place of Mohammed Shami.

Australia also made two changes after skipper Pat Cummins returned home to attend to his critically ill mother.

Left-arm seamer Mitchell Starc replaced Cummins, while Cameron Green came in for David Warner, who was ruled out of the remaining two matches with an elbow fracture and injury.

Steve Smith will captain the tourists in place of Cummins.

India need a win in the last two matches to reach the final of the World Test Championship at The Oval in June.
