India women have an advantage over Australia in the fourth day of the ongoing one-sided Pink Ball Test at the Carrara Oval in Queensland. The Indian batsmen, led by Smriti Mandhana (127) and Deepti Sharma (66), worked to help the team post 377 for eight, with bowlers Jhulan Goswami and Pooja Vastrakar taking crucial strikes as Australia closed on Day 3. Finished at 143. Fourth, trailing by 234 runs. It was unfortunate that Australia captain Meg Lanning (38) was dismissed lbw when she got a huge lead on the pads. Veteran pacer Jhulan, however, talked the ball under the lights, causing all kinds of problems for the Australian batsmen. Ellyse Perry took an end with some gritty batting to remain unbeaten on 27 at the stumps. Tahlia McGrath put up a strong performance but Vastrakar fell victim to 28 runs. Giving Perry company was Ashley Gardner (13 not out). Both the Australian batsmen will look to score some runs at the Carrara Oval with still good batting conditions.
