Virat Kohli has found his golden touch back and is back among the runs. After a couple of years where the former India skipper went through a phase where he could not score a century, Kohli has shown enough glimpses of being in form. Although he could not make a big impact in the first Test against Australia, he will be expected to perform better in the second Test in Delhi. Being his home ground, Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium is very close to Kohli’s heart. Same goes for Shikhar Dhawan, who has been with Kohli for a long time in the Indian cricket team and the Delhi state team.
Recently he spoke openly on his relationship with Kohli. “Virat is a good friend of mine. We share good camaraderie and always enjoy a healthy banter. He is a senior player in Team India. I can pull his leg, young players can’t. He is a big player. . She has accomplished a lot.” “We display good humor and bonhomie since our early playing days,” Dhawan told Lallantop.
While Dhawan was Kohli’s senior at the national level, Kohli was Dhawan’s senior at the international level. Asked if this aspect hurt his ego, Dhawan said:If you attack the ego, then there will be a fight. This is a matter of arrogance, isn’t it?, (Nothing like that. If you take it on the ego, it will hurt you. It’s a matter of ego then, isn’t it?) If I think I’m a senior and I’m playing below her. Then there will be ego. This is all nonsense to me. And there is no need for this to happen. it is no use.”
Dhawan is not in the Indian team as far as national selection is concerned while Virat is one of the most important players in the team across all formats.
