The third and final T20 match between India and New Zealand ended in a tie. After hosts New Zealand made 160 in 19.4 overs, rain halted the chase with the visitors at 75/4 in nine overs. As per Duckworth-Lewis method the scores were equal so the match ended in a tie and hence the series ended 1-0 in favor of India. Suryakumar Yadav said at the post-match presentation ceremony, “Really happy with the way things went, would have liked to have a complete game but I am happy that we won the series.”
At one stage India were reeling at 21/3 and from there Suryakumar Yadav and his skipper Hardik Pandya shared a 39-run partnership to help the visitors cross the 50-run mark in 4.4 overs.
Suryakumar Yadav said, “The weather is not in our hands. The pressure is always there, but when it is not there is no fun.”
Suryakumar Yadav won the ‘Player of the Series’ award for scoring 124 runs in two innings, including a century, which he scored in the 2nd T20I at Mount Maunganui, to help India take a 1-0 lead Got it.
Suryakumar Yadav said, “I am just enjoying my batting and not carrying any burden.”

The 32-year-old will also play a key role for India in the three-match ODI series starting on Friday. Suryakumar Yadav said, “It may take some time, but the approach and intention will remain the same. These things are not in our control. We can only express ourselves.”
After the T20 series win, India will be aiming to win the ODI series under Shikhar Dhawan.
