After receiving criticism on social media for only congratulating Lungi Ngidi for winning the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has congratulated all the players who played Chennai Super Kings including batsman Faf du Plessis. (CSK) was part of the team. and spinner Imran Tahir. CSK, who posted 192/3 on the board on the back of du Plessis’ scintillating 86, restricted Kolkata Knight Riders to 165/9 and registered a 27-run victory to clinch the IPL title for the fourth time. The side had previously won the tournament in 2010, 2011 and 2018.
CSA wrote on its Twitter, “Congratulations to all South Africa who participated in the 2021 IPL final with Chennai Super Kings and claimed victory. Notably, Faf du Plessis, man of the match performance.”

Earlier in the day, former Proteas pacer Dale Steyn slammed CSA for not congratulating du Plessis and Tahir on their win.
Stan tweeted, “CSA has now blocked the comments section. Here’s some advice. Do the right thing. Delete the post and add everyone involved, save yourself the embarrassment and ridicule.”
“CSA is opening its own box of worms with its Twitter and Instagram. Whoever is running those accounts needs to talk as well,” he said.
Notably, CSA later deleted their old tweet and then posted a new one which featured all South African players in the CSK squad.
