Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is known to be quite picky behind the stumps, who always tries to motivate the bowlers. Pant is always outspoken on the field and his words are often captured on the stump mic. On Thursday, Pant played a brilliant innings of 100 runs to give India a chance to win the third Test against South Africa in Cape Town.

With India bowled out for 198, Pant was out on the field with his gloves on. Mohammed Shami picked up the wicket of Aiden Markram early on, but it dismissed Keegan Pietersen midway and he, along with Dean Elgar, formed a solid partnership close to the 212-run target for South Africa.

With both facing the fast bowlers well, Indian skipper Virat Kohli brought spinner Ravichandran Ashwin into the attack.

It was during one over from Ashwin that he bowled a delivery that caught Pant’s fancy and the keeper praised the delivery in his own unique style. “Dear bowling,” quipped Pant and it was caught by the stump mic.

This left Pant’s Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals divided as he took to Twitter about it.

“Cute is bowling” – #RP17 Another one for Ash to Stump Mike Archives,” Delhi Capitals wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, Pant played a brilliant innings and scored his fourth Test century. Southpaw enthralled cricket fans with his flamboyant batting on the third day of the third Test between India and South Africa in Cape Town. Pant hit an unbeaten 100 on a test pitch as India were bowled out for 198 in the second innings, setting the hosts a target of 212 to win the match and series. India has never won a Test match in Cape Town and has never won a Test series on South African soil. If he manages to do two feats, the credit will go to the young wicket-keeper batsman.
