Virat Kohli’s performance in the recently concluded England tour was very memorable. In any match against England, be it Test, ODI or T20I, the former captain of the Indian cricket team could not score big. His scores in the recent England tour are 11, 20, 1, 11, 16 and 17. He is not part of the Indian squad for the upcoming West Indies tour, where India will play three ODIs and five T20 Internationals. With no century since the end of 2019, several former players have spoken about the long rope being given to Kohli.
Former Indian cricket team captain Sunil Gavaskar has now touched on the aspects that can help Virat return to his best form.
“If I had about 20 minutes with her, I would be able to tell her what she might need to do. It might help her, I’m not saying it would help her, but it’s especially helpful for that off Maybe with respect to the stump line,” Gavaskar told India Today.
“As a starting batsman, there are certain things that you try and do because of the trouble with that line. If I get 20 minutes with him, I can tell him.
“It goes back to the fact that his first mistake becomes his last. Then, just because he’s not among the runs, it’s a concern to play on every delivery because that’s what the batsmen think, they have to score .You want to play balls you wouldn’t play otherwise. But he has also delivered good deliveries on this particular tour.”
