Fast bowler Mohammed Shami has given India an offbeat start on the second day of the ongoing four-day tour of Leicestershire at the Uptonsteel Cricket Ground. After India declared their innings at their overnight score of 246 for eight, Shami twice dismissed openers Sam Evans and Cheteshwar Pujara in the morning session. After catching Evans at first slip from Virat Kohli, Shami dismissed Pujara, who was included in Leicestershire’s playing XI for the game.
Shami bowled a good length delivery and it went a bit over Pujara, who hit an inside edge to his stumps.
After being dismissed, both Pujara and Shami had smiles on their faces, and the India pacer hugged Pujara as he headed back into the dugout.
