India batsman Shikhar Dhawan is one of the happiest cricketers in the world. Dhawan, who is leading the team in the ongoing ODI series against West Indies, played a brilliant 97 to lay the foundation for the team’s victory in the first ODI on Friday. However, Dhawan made his teammates laugh with his hilarious antics during West Indies’ chase. The incident happened during the 37th over when Brandon Kings played a backfoot punch off Yuzvendra Chahal.

Dhawan, who was deployed at cover, made an excellent diving effort to save some runs for his team.

However, Dhawan attempted a few pushups before standing up, which made his teammates laugh. Even the stand-in captain was seen smiling.

The commentators can also be heard laughing at Dhawan’s antics.

Here’s the video:

India beat West Indies by three runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Out to bat, Dhawan and Shubman Gill gave India a great start by adding 119 runs for the first wicket.

Dhawan was dismissed for 97 while Gill also made a comeback in the ODI team and scored a brilliant 64.

Shreyas Iyer also impressed with the bat, scoring 54 off 57 balls.

In reply, West Indies suffered a three-run defeat as Mohammad Siraj’s brilliant last over gave India a 1-0 lead in the series.

West Indies got off to a poor start by losing the opening wicket of Shai Hope.

However, Kyle Meyers and Shamrah Brooks put on 117 runs for the second wicket to keep their ship steady.
