Royal Challengers Bangalore consolidated their position in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 points table by defeating Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in Dubai on Wednesday. Chasing 150 for victory, Glenn Maxwell hit a half-century while KS Bharat scored a crucial 44 and took the Bangalore-based franchise home with 17 balls to spare. At the same time, Rajasthan has put itself in trouble. They now need other results to go in their favor if they want to make it to the playoffs.

There were no major changes in the points table but a big win from RCB saw them improve their net run-rate which could come in handy as the tournament nears the end of business.
RCB now have 14 points from 11 matches and are in third place. Above them are Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals.
CSK will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad for the last time at the table in Sharjah on Thursday and MS Dhoni’s win will secure them a place in the play-offs.
There is a two-way tie for the fourth spot in the points table as both MI and KKR are on 10 points after 11 matches.
Punjab Kings and RR are ranked sixth and seventh in the table.

Sanju Samson failed to score a big score and is still behind Shikhar Dhawan in the list of top run-scorers in IPL 2021. Dhawan leads with 454 runs, while Samson reached 452 runs in an innings of 19 runs on Wednesday.
Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul is at the third position in the tournament so far with 422 runs while Faf du Plessis is fourth with 394 runs.

Harshal Patel had another brilliant outing with the ball, taking three wickets against Rajasthan to extend his lead as the leading wicket-taker in IPL 2021. Harshal now has 26 wickets in 11 matches.
Behind him is Avesh Khan of Delhi Capitals, who has 18 wickets in front of his name this season.
