BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, in a letter to all state associations, said that the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be played in domestic and road formats. This news has got all the fans of Chennai Super Kings excited. For the past few seasons, due to the COVID restrictions, the IPL was played at limited venues and die-hard CSK fans could not see their ‘Thala’ MS Dhoni in action. But this time there is a possibility that Dhoni will return to Chennai.

After the news surfaced, #IPL2023 trended as CSK fans took Twitter by storm.

Ganguly wrote to all the state associations outlining key points on the domestic international and domestic season for 2022-23. He revealed that the men’s IPL will go back to the home and away format.

“The next season of the men’s IPL will also go back to the home and away format, with all ten teams playing their home matches at their designated venues,” read Ganguly’s letter, a copy of which is with NDTV.
