Lawn Bowls: India women’s pair crashed out after quarterfinal loss

Indian women’s pair of Lovely Choubey and Nayanmoni Saikia crashed out of the Commonwealth Games quarter-final clash on Friday. The Indian pair lost 18-14 to England’s Sophie Tollcard and Amy Pharoah. Choubey and Saikia held the lead on two occasions, 5-2 after the first four rounds and 8-6 after nine.
However, they lost an early lead and allowed English pair Tolchard (lead) and Pharoah (skip) to make a strong comeback.

After the 10th round, England went ahead and extended their lead and eventually emerged victorious.
England will now face New Zealand in the semi-finals, while Australia will face Malaysia in the other last four matches.
