Argentina captain and talisman Lionel Messi will gift a gold iPhone 14 Pro to every member of his team, including the support staff, who were part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup win in Qatar last year. According to Benjamin Lyons, CEO of iDesign Gold, Messi ordered 35 gold iPhone 14 Pros from them, which have been delivered to the former Barcelona star’s home in Paris. The equipment has the player’s name, number and the logo of the Argentine Football Association engraved on them. Lyons shared a few glimpses of the gold iPhone on social media.
“Anything is possible when you believe in @leomessi. 35 gold iPhone 14 Pro delivered to the House of Leo in Paris,” Lyons captioned a post on Instagram.
Argentina won their third World Cup title, defeating France 4–2 on penalties in the final.
Messi, who plays his club football in France with Paris Saint-Germain, on Monday won the best FIFA men’s player award for 2022 on the back of his World Cup triumph with La Albiceleste.
It is the second time that Messi has won the honor, inaugurated by FIFA in 2016, when football’s world governing body split from Ballon d’Or organizers France Football.
The award, which is voted for by national team coaches and captains, journalists and fans, recognizes the year in which the former Barcelona star crowned his illustrious career by leading Argentina to World Cup triumph.
The 35-year-old, a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner, replaces Robert Lewandowski in the FIFA honors list, while Barcelona women’s team star Alexia Putelas retained the women’s award despite missing the second half of last year through injury.
