The Lucknow franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which participated in its first season in IPL 2022, has started making its presence felt on social media. The team has recently named stalwarts like Andy Flower (Head Coach) and Gautam Gambhir (Mentor) in its coaching staff and may soon announce the list of retained players before going for their first mega IPL auction. . But before that the team has to find a name for itself. And in a unique campaign, the franchise is actually asking its new fanbase to help finalize a name for the new team. The franchise took to Twitter on Wednesday to invoke famed English playwright and poet William Shakespeare as it reached out to its fans for the campaign.

“Don’t listen to Shakespeare. There’s everything in a name, and we’re looking forward to the one,” it wrote on Twitter.

The caption accompanying the campaign video is taken from Shakespeare’s famous quote, “What’s in a name? What we call a rose, by any other name will smell sweet,” from the play. Romeo and Juliet (Act 2, Scene 2).
