“Manchester United, Rest In Peace”: Former Liverpool Star As Red Devils Lose 0-4 Vs Brentford

Manchester United suffered a humiliating defeat against Brentford in the ongoing Premier League 2022-23 season on Saturday. The Red Devils lost the match 0-4 and all four goals came in the first half. It is important to note that United also lost their first match of the season, and the result against Brentford made matters worse for the club. It all started with a howler by goalkeeper David de Gea as he allowed a long-range shot from Joshua DaSilva to slip through him.

A few minutes later, Mathias Jensen helped Brentford go 2–0, and Ben Mee and Brian Mbumo also helped Brentford go 4–0 on the scoring sheet within 35 minutes. The side was ridiculed on social media for this poor performance by United. Former Liverpool star Stan Collymore said the club has been struck by ownership who have kept corporate on football.

“Manchester United, Rest in Peace. Killed by ownership that put corporate on football, stripped of a dominant 20-year legacy and didn’t listen to the original Green & Gold campaign when they warned of it. Sad to see,” tweeted Collymore.

Here are some more reactions after United’s loss against Brentford

Erik ten Haig’s poor start as Manchester United manager came in embarrassment as the Red Devils of the Premier League went down in a 4-0 thrashing by Brentford on Saturday.

The former Ajax boss’s reign began last weekend with Brighton’s first win at Old Trafford, but it turned out to be even worse as Beez penalized a series of errors for scoring four times in the first 35 minutes.

Jubilant Home Support taunted Ten Hugs with chants of “You’re getting fired in the morning.”

But the Dutch coach seems to have inherited a riot rather than the root cause as United lost their seventh consecutive league match for the first time since 1936.
